This fly-over was created for LSU using LIDAR and 2000 USGS High-resolution color aerial photography. This animation is yet another application of geographic information.

 
 Information
LIDAR is used as a skeleton upon which the high-resolution air photographs are draped. This is what gives the buildings and surfaces that "smooth" look.
